See, now that I've looked on the bright side of things, I feel better!
So, what are you crabbing about?  Count your own blessings!  It's cheaper than paying for therapy!  No analyst would believe you anyway; it would only give him all the material he needs for his next bestseller!
When you find yourself on a stormy sea in a leaky boat, here's what you do:
Pull up an empty chair next to your couch.  Now, lie down, stretch out comfortably and just relax.  Imagine that Jesus is sitting in that chair.
Use all the imagination and humor necessary to count your blessings.  Stay there until you have come up with at least 10.  If it takes you all day, so be it; you probably need the rest anyway.  Should all your needs and problems come to mind, sternly rebuke them in Jesus' name.  Ask for His assistance, He is right there.  This is not the time for negative thinking or asking God for everything in creation for yourself or anybody else!
God is waiting to see if you can muster up some positive thoughts and maybe a little gratefulness about all He has already done for you.
If not, why should He do any more?
Trust me, this works better than Prozac and the side effects are wonderful!  You will be filled with joy, peace, love, mental and physical energy; plus, you will have forgotten all about your problems.
You will arise completely refreshed having had your sense of humor restored along with a clearer perspective that this is "only life" and you are only passing through.
Now, the next time life gets you down, (and it will!) quit your grumbling, whining, complaining, murmuring and muttering, and count your blessings!
Next, fire your therapist, quit your aerobics  and meditation classes, and forget the Proazac and St. John's Wort!  Buy extra chairs and couches and invite friends and family over for a "count your blessings  session!"
Lastly, go to http://journey11.homestead.com/index.html and read both The Empty Chair and Listen - Jesus Is Speaking to reinforce this new therapy.  While you are there, ponder that a presence millions of times more beautiful and loving than the one portrayed in that gorgeous painting has just spent time with you!  He has restored your sense of humor, given you a peaceful heart despite all your problems, renewed your strength and , He will never send you a bill for any of it!
Though I am drifting alone,
lost on a deserted isle in the sea of life
God's light shines, surrounding me in its glow
I Have Much To Be Thankful For
The ants are chewing down the garage and not the house - so far!
It is only the IRS after me, not the FBI, CIA, Russian Mafia
or any of my ex-husbands!
God miraculously had them start making Puffed Rice again
since that is all I can afford for food!
The oil leaks in the driveway aren't from my car but from an oil-leaking UFO!
I'm not without resources: I have three crates of neon-colored 1970's dishes
I have no known viruses in my body or on my computer!
Comparing my life to the Biblical Job's:  things could still be a little worse!
I have nightmares but I have not been abducted by aliens!
I am here in the rain instead of the record-breaking heat of Phoenix
My transmission went out in my front yard and not near the Bates Motel!
The sign on my porch still says "Welcome", not "Enter at your own risk!"
My teeth are paid for so I no longer fear repossession!
Things could be worse is still true:  it's Tuesday
My phone works and nobody called today demanding money!
Friends are too poor to come over to ask for a loan.
I talk to myself but I do not listen!
My heart's desire to be a stand-up comic did not work out!
"I never promised you a rose garden" is NOT in the Bible!
The government hasn't figured out how to charge fees and tax on prayer!
Someday I will see Jesus and He will explain life to me!
I have NOT been struck by lightning - yet
God still lets me exercise my sense of humor!!!

.

no matter how bad life seems,
He is working His purpose for our benefit and His glory.
We are not of this world, just temporarily in it.
Pray for those who do not have your great joy and hope, Jesus Christ.
